BACK
A dangerous pattern was set up, which I could not seem to stop for the rest of the trip. Too bad, I finally said to myself, I shall sort it out when I get home. Well, the bank manager had to help, and what can I say except that I now have a huge, beautiful wood pile, and yes, a bigger mortgage on the house… But it was fun.
And so the trip proceeded… to Herr Gleissner and his son Stephan in Germany…
And then back to London to give a talk at the London Guitar Teachers School, and then on to the USA to meet up with my 2 agents in New York, Mike Joyce of the Luthiers Collection in San Diego, and Takeshi Hayakawa, my agent in Japan. Then, after surviving the LA/San Diego freeway, after which I felt I could take on the world, up to Pacific Rim Tonewoods, the home of extraordinary Giant Sitka Trees, and Englemann, Maple and other great woods.
There I am hosted By Steve McMin, Paul and Eric, three very experienced and knowledgeable woodmen, with an obvious passion for timber.
